Confessions

I have a confession to make… I haven’t read any books since I finished up David Roth’s Magnificent Seven. I haven’t written anything since finishing up the edits on Pithos. What I have been doing is watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

I watched the original series in the 1980’s. It had some good storytelling and it was campy. But it was on every night, and I watched it on my black and white TV set. I saw the movies (all but Motion Picture at the theatres.) I tuned in every week for The Next Generation. I suffered through the first two seasons before the writers gained their footing. I was appalled by the plot-holes in the series finale.
I watched a few seasons of Deep Space Nine, but life was happening and it didn’t hold my interest the way The Next Generation did. I was on active duty and in those days communication technologies were not as prevalent as they are now or even a decade ago. By the time Voyager was going strong life finally caught up with me, and I started watching regularly again. I had missed Deep Space Ninealmost in its entirety.

Like any other show, Deep Space Nine had really good episodes and it had some stinkers. There are no poignant thoughts on Deep Space Nine. I have no allegories or parables to offer. Just letting you know I finally watched the whole thing.

I suppose I should get back to reading and writing.
