Under the Dome

The CBS adaptation of Under The Dome by Stephen King premiers in thirty days. My wife and I are both interested in watching it, and have decided to reread the novel so it is fresh when we watch. Stephen King always seems to have over-the-top violence in his novels and Under The Dome is no exception. I am curious to see how that violence is translated into a series airing on one of the broadcast networks. Sometimes it’s easy, like in Misery, when you just substitute chopping off the author’s feet with breaking his ankles. A lot of the violence in Under The Dome is necessary to tell the story so I am definitely curious. In the latest preview, Erica Cerra is featured prominently, along with a scene of her in police garb and a dude in fire fighter garb are “touching” hands on opposite sides of the dome. I am curious as to what character she portrays as I don’t recall a female police officer involved with a firefighter in the book. I did read it back in 2009 and am only about fifty percent through my current read – so I may read this scene later…
In other news, Next week is the last week of class, so expect more writing and blog posts for the summer.
