Ten Questions with Scott Hawkins

Scott Hawkins

It’s been a month since I reviewed The Library on Mount Char, by Scott Dawson, and recently Scott agreed to a phone interview. Here are his answers to my questions:

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

What does your family think of your writing?

Describe your protagonist, Carolyn.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing The Library at Mount Char?

Carolyn’s experiences touch on larger issues, such as the nature of choice, the ramifications of our actions, and the pursuit of revenge. What’s your take on some of these issues?

What was your grand plan when you first set out to write this novel?

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

What project(s) are you currently working on?
