I don’t watch a lot of television. Books are way better. But there are a few shows I do like to watch over the summer: Under the Dome, Zoo, Wayward Pines, and The Whispers. All of these programs are based on books. I let my windows 7 media center record those shows, and I watch whenever I feel like it. So, back in July, Microsoft decided to switch electronic program guide providers, and not tell anyone. Had they made this information known, I would’ve done some research and learned that the new shitty EPG provider doesn’t support my over-the-air zip code. Of course had I known this, I would’ve changed my zip code to another town that is supported by the new shitty EPG provider.
I didn’t find out until I tried watching yesterday’s Zoo. No Zoo, no programs scheduled, nothing in the guide. So I missed The Whispers on Sunday, and Zoo yesterday. So fuck you Microsoft. It’s shitty behavior like this that makes everyone hate you. Well, that and activation procedures that only inconvenience people who have legally purchased their products. Hackers just bypass activation.
